Fluminense Sets Preseason Friendly Schedule as Flamengo Awaits Transfer Moves
Fluminense announced a three‑match interseason programme ahead of the 2026 Brazilian league. The first friendly on 4 July will be a closed‑door game against São Cristóvão at the club’s training centre. The second, on 8 July at the Maracanã, pits Fluminense against Nova Iguaçu and is expected to feature the debut of new striker Hulk. The final preparatory match on 12 July at the Maracanã will face Bahia, with all but the first game broadcast live on SporTV, Premiere, GE, and TV Band.
Meanwhile, Flamengo began its own series of preseason friendlies on 3 July. Despite fan pressure for new signings, technical director José Boto said the club has no immediate targets and will wait until after the World Cup to evaluate opportunities. Flamengo intends to keep its core squad, having turned down offers for Luiz Araújo and Emerson Royal, and is looking for a midfielder comparable to Arrascaeta and a forward to complement or replace Pedro.
