Fluminense faces injury crisis after Libertadores victory over Platense

Fluminense secured a 2-0 victory against Platense at the Maracanã in the first leg of the Copa Libertadores quarter-finals. Goals from Nonato and Hulk provided the advantage, with Ganso playing a decisive role in the first half. However, the club faces significant roster challenges ahead of the second leg in Argentina.

Striker Germán Cano has been diagnosed with a grade 3 muscle injury in his right posterior thigh. The Argentine attacker is expected to be sidelined for approximately eight weeks. Additionally, defender Ignácio suffered a grade 2 muscle injury in his left anterior thigh, which is expected to keep him out of action for about 15 days.

Midfielder Nonato will also be unavailable for the return leg due to suspension after receiving his third yellow card. The team, led by coach Marcão, must navigate these absences as they prepare to defend their lead at the Estadio Ciudad de Vicente López.
