Fluminense targets defenders Nino and Thiago Silva in upcoming transfer window

Fluminense is working to reinforce its back line before the second half of the season. The club’s hierarchy has identified centre‑back Nino, currently with Zenit, as a primary target. An initial €10 million offer was met with a €17 million counter‑proposal, and negotiations are now focused on reaching a figure around €13 million.

The team is also pursuing former Brazil captain Thiago Silva, who is a free agent after leaving Porto. Silva’s family remains in England, making a return to Brazil a personal decision as well as a sporting one. Fluminense continues to keep regular contact with the defender and hopes to convince him to finish his career at the Laranjeiras stadium.

In addition to these high‑profile targets, the club is monitoring several of its own squad members—such as Freytes, Ignácio and Igor Rabello—for possible external interest, aiming to ensure depth and stability in defense throughout the campaign.
