Fluminense’s Ana Medina and Flamengo’s Luiz Araújo resume training after knee injuries

Ana Medina, the opposite hitter signed by Fluminense for the 2025/2026 season, returned to full training after recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament tear in her left knee. The injury, sustained during a Brazil U‑26 national team session, kept her out for the entire previous season. Medina praised the club’s medical support and said she feels no pain, while physiotherapist Gabriel Alves highlighted her progress.

Flamengo forward Luiz Araújo is also entering the transition phase of his rehabilitation following a left‑knee injury suffered in a friendly against Paraguay’s Olimpia. He has begun light physical work and physiotherapy and could be available for the upcoming Libertadores round‑of‑16 first leg against Cruzeiro at Mineirão on 12 August. The club’s medical staff reports no surgery was required and optimism is growing about his return to the squad.
