Fluor Corporation stock rises following strong Q2 2026 earnings

Fluor Corporation reported strong second-quarter 2026 financial results, significantly exceeding analyst expectations and causing its stock price to rise by approximately 16-17%. The engineering and construction company reported revenue of approximately $4.3 billion, representing a 9% increase year-over-year, compared to analyst estimates of $3.9 billion.

Adjusted earnings per share (EPS) reached $0.91, more than doubling the $0.43 reported during the same period last year and beating the consensus estimate of $0.70. The company also saw a substantial increase in new awards, which rose to $6.1 billion in the second quarter from $1.8 billion in the previous year. These awards span various sectors, including nuclear fuels, mining, fertilizers, LNG, and infrastructure.

While reporting growth, the company noted a $44 million loss in its Urban Solutions business related to the Gordie Howe project due to foreign-exchange effects and subcontractor bankruptcy. Despite this, Fluor maintains positive outlooks for long-term growth in data-center-related infrastructure, nuclear energy, and government services. The company ended July with approximately $3.2 billion in cash and continues its share repurchase program.
