Fluor Corporation wins US$7.5B share of LNG Canada Phase 2 contract
Fluor Corporation has announced that its joint venture with JGC Corporation has been selected to execute Phase 2 of the LNG Canada export facility in Kitimat, British Columbia. Following a final investment decision by LNG Canada, the joint venture received a full notice to proceed for the engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, and commissioning of the project.
Fluor expects to recognize its US$7.5 billion share of the contract in its fiscal third quarter of 2026. The Phase 2 expansion is designed to include two additional liquefaction trains and one new LNG storage tank. Once completed, these additions are expected to double the facility’s annual production capacity to approximately 28 million tonnes.
The joint venture, owned equally by Fluor Canada Ltd. and JGC Constructors (No2) BC Ltd., previously delivered Phase 1 of the project. Fluor CEO Jim Breuer stated that the teams will apply lessons learned from the first phase to ensure the success of the expansion.
