Flutterwave expands cross‑border payments with Xoom partnership and Circle Ventures investment

Flutterwave announced a partnership with PayPal’s Xoom service to speed up cross‑border remittances into Nigeria. The deal links Xoom’s global network with Flutterwave’s local payout infrastructure, allowing funds to be converted to Naira and deposited directly into major Nigerian banks such as Access Bank, UBA, Zenith, First Bank and GTBank. Founder and CEO Olugbenga “GB” Agboola said the collaboration will help millions of Nigerians receive money from abroad more reliably.

In a separate development, Flutterwave secured a strategic investment from Circle Ventures, the venture arm of the US‑based Circle Internet Group. The funding supports the rollout of USDC stable‑coin settlement across Africa, enabling merchants to collect payments locally and settle in USDC, which reduces delays and costs while meeting compliance standards. Agboola called stablecoins “the next era of global money movement from Africa,” positioning Flutterwave as a primary gateway for the continent’s stable‑coin adoption.
