Flux Marine secures European certification for electric outboards
Flux Marine, a Rhode Island-based company, has received European certification for its FM115 electric outboard motor. The certification allows the company to expand its presence in the European recreational marine market, specifically debuting the motor on the iRIB-7 hull from Austrian boatbuilder i-RIB.
The FM115 is designed as a drop-in replacement for 115 HP gasoline outboards and is paired with IP67-rated 28 kWh modular battery packs. Flux Marine reports that the motor has logged over 50,000 kilometers in salt and fresh water through real-world testing and commercial use. To support its expansion, the company has also appointed a new Senior Field Sales Manager in the United States.
