FLUXUS festival in Kaunas to feature ‘Big Explosion’ led by Aleksandras Špilevojus

Director Aleksandras Špilevojus is leading the FLUXUS festival in Kaunas, which will feature a major event known as the ‘Big Explosion’ on September 19. The festivities are scheduled to begin at 21:00 in Jurgio Mačiūno Square, where participants will traditionally climb Parodos Hill in their own unique ways.

Špilevojus, who typically maintains strict control over every detail of his theatrical productions, views the Fluxus movement as an opportunity to embrace improvisation and chaos. He describes the movement not as being about individual geniuses, but as a way to blur the boundaries between art and life. For the director, participating in the festival serves as a way to step away from constant analysis and control to discover a different side of himself.
