Flávio Bolsonaro asks STF to shift Dark Horse amendment probe to Minister Mendonça

Senator Flávio Bolsonaro petitioned Supreme Court president Edson Fachin to have Justice Minister André Mendonça assume the investigation into alleged misuse of parliamentary amendments linked to the film “Dark Horse,” which portrays former President Jair Bolsonaro. The probe was opened by the Federal Police at the direction of Justice Minister Flávio Dino after deputies Henrique Vieira and Tabata Amaral invoked transparency rules for parliamentary funds. Bolsonaro’s lawyers argue the case should be moved to Mendonça because he already oversees a related investigation into resource negotiations for the film involving the senator and banker Daniel Vorcaro, and because the PT also submitted a request to his office. They stress the need to avoid conflicting decisions. The inquiry focuses on amendments directed to NGOs controlled by Karina Gama, owner of the production company, and includes a parliamentary amendment submitted by Deputy Mario Frias, who is part of the film’s production team.
