Eight years after the stabbing of former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, his son, Senator Flávio Bolsonaro, commemorated the event on social media. The attack occurred on September 6, 2018, in Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais, during a campaign event.

Flávio Bolsonaro described the date as a significant and difficult milestone for his family, stating that it was the day his father “was reborn” and asserting that “nobody can stop an idea.” He recalled the hardships of the hospital period and the impact the incident had on their ability to participate in political demonstrations at the time.

The 2018 attack was carried out by Adélio Bispo de Oliveira, who was diagnosed with persistent delusional disorder and remains in a federal prison. The stabbing caused severe internal injuries to the former president, requiring multiple emergency surgeries and a lengthy recovery process.
