Flávio Bolsonaro faces request to freeze R$ 72 million in assets
Federal Deputy Lindbergh Farias (PT-RJ) has filed a request with the Supreme Federal Court (STF) to freeze up to R$ 72 million in assets belonging to Senator Flávio Bolsonaro. The request is based on allegations that funds provided by former banker Daniel Vorcaro for the production of the film ‘Dark Horse’—a project about former President Jair Bolsonaro—originated from illicit sources.
Farias alleges a connection between these funds and the diversion of resources from RioPrevidência, the pension fund for Rio de Janeiro state employees. He claims the money served as a quid pro quo for investments involving Banco Master, noting that RioPrevidência has moved over R$ 3.6 billion in applications linked to the institution. Some of the funds were reportedly sent to the Havengate Development Fund in Texas, which is linked to individuals close to Eduardo Bolsonaro.
Flávio Bolsonaro has previously acknowledged seeking resources from Vorcaro for the film but denies any wrongdoing, maintaining that the transactions were legitimate private investments.
