Flávio Bolsonaro investigated in 'Dark Horse' film financing case FAST-MOVING

Supreme Court Minister André Mendonça has ordered an investigation into Senator Flávio Bolsonaro for alleged crimes related to the financing of the film 'Dark Horse', a biopic about his father, Jair Bolsonaro. The investigation, requested by the Federal Police, explores suspicions of corruption, money laundering, and foreign exchange evasion. Investigators are looking into a R$ 61 million transfer from former banker Daniel Vorcaro, owner of Banco Master, which was allegedly made at the senator's request.

Simultaneously, the Federal Police and the Comptroller General of the Union (CGU) launched Operation Make Up, executing 49 search and seizure warrants across several Brazilian states. This operation investigates the diversion of parliamentary amendments intended for the same film production.

The situation has triggered a crisis within the Supreme Federal Court. Following the lifting of secrecy on investigations related to Banco Master, documents revealed a contract between the bank and the law firm of Viviane Barci de Moraes, wife of Minister Alexandre de Moraes, involving payments totaling approximately R$ 129.6 million. Amidst these developments, Minister Alexandre de Moraes has declined to resign, and President Lula has called for the Supreme Court to restore its credibility and transparency.
