Flávio Bolsonaro pledges Bahia investment amid warnings of political persecution

Flávio Bolsonaro has pledged to invest in the development of Bahia if elected to the presidency. In a video message, Bolsonaro appeared alongside former Salvador mayor ACM Neto and former minister João Roma. ACM Neto, who has expressed support for Bolsonaro’s candidacy in the second round, urged the candidate to prioritize the Northeast region and ensure prosperity for Bahian citizens.

In contrast, federal deputy-elect Jones Manoel (PSOL) warned that a Flávio Bolsonaro administration could politically persecute the states of Pernambuco and Bahia. Manoel argued that because the electoral configurations of these states are unfavorable to the far-right, a Bolsonaro government might attempt to create crises or withhold federal resources to weaken local political leadership and foster growth for right-wing groups.
