Flávio Bolsonaro Faces TCU Dismissal and STF Challenge Amid Banco Master Probe

Brazil’s Federal Court of Accounts (TCU) dismissed a request filed by Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL‑RJ) to investigate the Life Tecnologia Educacional company, concluding the petition relied solely on press reports and lacked documentary evidence. The request alleged that Carla Ariane Trindade, the former daughter‑in‑law of President Luiz Inácio Lula, used Lula’s name to secure meetings and facilitate the release of education funds, but the court found no “minimum indications” of illegality.

Separately, Flávio Bolsonaro petitioned the Supreme Federal Court (STF) to have Justice Alexandre de Moraes declared suspect in a proceeding concerning Banco Master and its owner Daniel Vorcaro. The senator argues that Moraes’s wife’s law firm contracts with the bank create a conflict of interest, and asked that the case be reassigned to Justice André Mendonça.

The Federal Police and the Attorney General’s Office are reviewing a new plea‑ bargain submitted by Vorcaro after an earlier offer was rejected. In the latest proposal, Vorcaro names Flávio Bolsonaro, among other politicians, and acknowledges that the senator requested R$134 million to finance the “Dark Horse” film about former President Jair Bolsonaro. Investigations by the PF, PGR and the STF remain ongoing.
