Flávio Bolsonaro releases government plan with judicial reforms

Flávio Bolsonaro, a senator and presidential pre-candidate for the Liberal Party (PL), has released his government plan titled ‘Para o Brasil vencer o atraso’ (For Brazil to overcome backwardness). The program is organized into nine axes, including public security, economy, education, health, and judicial reform.

A central component of the plan involves reforming the Supreme Federal Court (STF). Proposed measures include prohibiting relatives of judges up to the third degree, as well as their respective law firms, from practicing law in the specific court where the judge serves. This would expand current restrictions that only prevent individual judges from presiding over cases involving relatives.

Other security and judicial proposals include the chemical castration of convicted rapists and child abusers, reducing the criminal age to 16, and ending regime progression for those convicted of heinous crimes. The plan also seeks to limit monocratic decisions by STF ministers and proposes an urgent political reform to increase voter-representative proximity.
