Flávio Dino maintains R$ 308 million asset freeze in Oi case
Supreme Court Justice Flávio Dino has maintained the freezing of assets totaling R$ 308.1 million as part of Operação Heritage. The investigation examines potential irregularities regarding a R$ 308 million agreement between the Mato Grosso government and Oi S.A.
The Federal Police are investigating suspicions of crimes against the financial system, embezzlement, money laundering, criminal organization, and insider trading. Among those under investigation are former governor Mauro Mendes Ferreira, his children Luís Antônio Taveira Mendes and Ana Carolinne Mendes Facure, federal deputy Fábio Garcia, and former State Attorney General Francisco de Assis da Silva Lopes.
Justice Dino rejected several requests from the investigated parties to access case files, recover passports, or relax contact restrictions during the election campaign, citing the need to protect ongoing investigations. He authorized only the release of future salaries for State Prosecutor Fabíola Paulino Garcia Pereira Cardoso.
