Other passengers, including British pilots traveling on the flight, also played roles in regaining control of the aircraft during a rapid descent of up to 17,400 feet.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated the suspect had undergone radical Islamist indoctrination. The UAE Prosecutor General is investigating the incident to determine if it constitutes a terrorist attack. All 174 passengers and eight crew members were reported safe, with passengers later continuing their journey to Israel on a replacement aircraft.
