flydubai launches regular international flights to Pokhara, Nepal
flydubai has launched regular international scheduled flights between Dubai International Airport and Pokhara International Airport in Nepal. This service marks the first time a commercial airline has operated regular international scheduled flights from Pokhara, making it the third airport in Nepal to host such connections.
The new route utilizes Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft and aims to provide direct access to the Annapurna mountain range, boosting adventure tourism in the region. With the addition of the Pokhara service, flydubai now operates a total of 35 weekly flights to Nepal, including four daily flights to Kathmandu.
Initial passenger numbers have been reported as encouraging. Following a weather-related cancellation on Friday, the service resumed on Saturday with 156 passengers arriving from Dubai. Local tourism stakeholders, including the Pokhara Tourism Council, have noted positive booking trends and have introduced discount schemes to welcome arriving travelers.
