Flyer Invitational golf tournament begins at NCR Country Club

The Dayton Flyer Invitational at NCR Country Club in Kettering, Ohio, saw its opening day interrupted by darkness. In the men's competition, Ball State holds second place in a 13-team field after finishing the first round at +3 and starting the second round with a combined four-under par before play was suspended. Luke Johnston and Cameron Young led the Cardinals, with Johnston currently tied for fourth at -3.

In the women's competition, Central Michigan's Elise Fennell is tied for fifth after shooting a 74 in the opening round and reaching 1-under through 16 holes of the second round. The Chippewas team currently sits in fourth place in the 11-team field. Butler leads the women's tournament at 3-under par.

Play for both divisions is scheduled to resume Tuesday morning.
