Flying Tiger Hungary recalls 220 ml water glasses over lead and cadmium leaching

Hungary’s National Trade and Consumer Protection Authority (NKFH) ordered an immediate recall of six 220 ml sample water glasses sold by Flying Tiger (Tiger Stores Hungary Zrt.). The recall follows a Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) notification that the Chinese‑made glasses, shipped through Denmark, released cadmium and lead above EU limits.

The six SKUs – floral, pumpkin, orange, heart‑patterned transparent, eucalyptus and yellow lemon designs – were withdrawn from stores, collected and will be destroyed or disposed of under NKFH supervision. Health officials warned that prolonged exposure to lead or cadmium can damage the nervous system, kidneys and increase cancer risk, and urged consumers who still have the glasses not to use them.
