Flynn Henry Greer faces court over high-speed police pursuit

Flynn Henry Greer, 24, appeared in Tamworth Local Court regarding a high-speed police pursuit through South Tamworth on March 12, 2026. Greer pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of cocaine and engaging in a police pursuit.

During the incident, Greer led officers through several residential streets, the Oxley Highway, and the New England Highway, at times driving on the incorrect side of the road and running stop signs. The pursuit was eventually halted due to safety concerns.

Greer's solicitor, Andrew O'Halloran, argued that the behavior was driven by drug addiction used as a "coping mechanism" for untreated medical issues, including a brain injury resulting from a previous workplace accident. While the defense requested a Community Corrections Order, prosecutor Sergeant Trent Robinson argued that a community order was inadequate given the danger posed to the public.
