FM Yamagata reviews Shinjo Festival special broadcast

FM Yamagata held its 373rd Program Deliberation Council on September 16 to review a special live broadcast titled ‘Shinjo Festival – Soul, Beat, Inheritance’. The program, which aired on August 25, featured live coverage from the historic Shinjo Festival, a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage event.

The council evaluated how the broadcast utilized sound to convey the festival's atmosphere, including float processions and traditional music. Members praised the deep exploration of the festival's history and the theme of cultural inheritance, specifically noting the coverage of oral traditions like the ‘Niagari’ music.
