FMCSA and DHS conduct overnight truck enforcement operation

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and the Department of Homeland Security conducted an overnight enforcement operation titled ‘Operation Saturday Night Fever’ across South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida, and Georgia.

During the operation, authorities inspected 552 commercial vehicles. The enforcement efforts resulted in 78 drivers being placed out-of-service, including 12 drivers cited for English Language Proficiency (ELP) violations. Additionally, 25 vehicles were removed from service. The operation aimed to improve roadway safety, address criminal activity along major freight corridors, and verify driver credentials, fatigue levels, and cargo security.
