FMF Inter-District Championship begins in Suva

The 86th FMF Inter-District Championship (IDC) is set to commence at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva, featuring a mix of established Fijian districts and new competitors. This edition marks the first appearance of both the Kiribati National Team and the Fiji U-17 National Team in the tournament.

In the Premier Division, Group A consists of Nadroga FC, Seaqaqa FC, and the Kiribati National Team. Group B includes Tailevu Naitasiri FC, Tavua FC, and the Fiji U-17 National Team. Seaqaqa FC enters the competition following a recent promotion to the Premier Division.

Several teams are seeking to end long-standing droughts or redeem recent performances. Labasa FC aims to secure its eighth championship title after a challenging season, while Nasinu FC seeks its first IDC victory since 1990. The tournament opening includes a torch relay that has traveled through Ba and Tavua.
