FNE union protests Moroccan Ministry of Education training decision

The National Federation of Education (FNE) has issued an open letter to the Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Mohamed Saad Berrada, protesting a recent decision regarding the training of educational administration cadres.

The dispute centers on a ministry mandate requiring trainees in the educational administration track to select ten provincial directorates for their second year of training. The FNE criticizes this as a unilateral decision made without consulting educational unions. The union argues that the requirement fails to consider the social, family, and geographic circumstances of the trainees, which could impose undue burdens on them.

Furthermore, FNE National General Secretary Abdallah Gmimt raised concerns regarding the legal and administrative status of trainees during their second year. He questioned whether they will remain under supervision for training purposes or if they will be expected to perform actual administrative duties, such as those of school heads or general supervisors. The union maintains that assigning professional responsibilities without a clear legal framework, defined tasks, and corresponding rights or protections is unjust and legally ambiguous.
