FNSI relaunches appeal for truth regarding 1992 mafia massacres
The National Federation of Italian Journalists (FNSI) has relaunched an appeal for the ‘right to truth’ regarding the 1992 mafia massacres in Capaci and via D’Amelio. Originally started in May by 33 Sicilian journalists through an open letter to President Sergio Mattarella, the number of signatories has more than doubled.
Promoters are calling on the Parliamentary Anti-Mafia Commission to investigate all possible leads, urging that the inquiry not be limited solely to the relationship between the mafia and public contracts. The goal is to explore potential links to subversive environments, external conspiracies, and ‘grey zones’ within the state. Alfredo Morvillo, brother of Francesca Morvillo and brother-in-law of Giovanni Falcone, emphasized that while judicial truths have been established, investigative clues suggest there may be undisclosed responsibilities that have yet to be addressed in court.
