FNSS expands Turkish armored vehicle production and exports
Turkish armored vehicle manufacturer FNSS has reached a significant milestone, having delivered 4,500 armored vehicles over its 35-year history. The company's evolution spans from the initial ZMA-15 armored combat vehicles to Turkey's first mid-class tank exports, domestic amphibious assault vehicles, and modern autonomous and hybrid solutions.
FNSS products are currently utilized by the Turkish Armed Forces and the militaries of six other allied nations. The company focuses on developing tracked armored vehicles designed to balance mobility, protection, and firepower. These platforms are engineered to operate across diverse terrains, including deserts, marshes, and rocky landscapes, while supporting heavy payloads such as air defense systems, mortars, and anti-tank missiles.
In response to evolving modern battlefield threats—including unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), loitering munitions, and improvised explosive devices—FNSS is adapting its designs. Current military doctrines are shifting toward more agile, easily transportable, and rapidly producible systems that prioritize situational awareness and drone countermeasures over traditional heavy protection.
