FNSS produces first Kaplan ZPT armored personnel carrier for Indonesia

FNSS has completed the production of the first Kaplan ZPT Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) at its facilities in Turkey. This vehicle is being developed under a contract between FNSS and Indonesia-based PT Pindad to meet the 30-ton class tracked APC requirements of the Indonesian Army.

The first unit has successfully undergone pre-acceptance tests in Turkey with the participation of PT Pindad. Following these tests, the vehicle is scheduled to be sent to Indonesia for final acceptance testing with the end user. Simultaneously, production of a second unit is underway at PT Pindad facilities in Indonesia.

The Kaplan ZPT project builds on the existing cooperation and technology transfer established through the Kaplan MT (Harimau) medium tank project. Designed to carry up to 13 personnel—including a commander, driver, gunner, and 10 infantry soldiers—the vehicle features an advanced suspension system intended to provide high mobility across various terrains and climatic conditions.
