Foča Hosts 20th International Youth Football Tournament

From July 31 to August 2, 2026 the town of Foča in Bosnia and Herzegovina will host the 20th edition of the International Youth Football tournament “Fudbal Frends”. The event, described by organizer Zoran Avramović as a “capital of youth football on the Balkans”, brings together the region’s most talented young players and senior sports officials.

The tournament commemorates two decades since its inception in 2005, shortly after the area emerged from war. Organisers highlight the “Fudbal Frends Declaration”, which stresses that rivalry on the pitch must not preclude friendship off it and positions football as a tool for regional reconciliation and future development. A traditional round‑table discussion accompanies the matches, continuing a dialogue that has shaped the tournament’s evolution.

The anniversary edition aims to reinforce the tournament’s role as a beacon of cross‑border cooperation, promoting the idea that football can heal wounds and build lasting ties among Balkan communities.
