Foase resident allegedly found in cemetery coffin during suspected ritual

A 28-year-old drug store operator, identified as Foster, was discovered inside a coffin at a cemetery in Foase, located in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region. The incident occurred on Thursday, November 5, 2026, after a hunter noticed an exposed coffin in an open area of the cemetery.

The hunter reportedly threatened to shoot the coffin after his dogs approached it, prompting the man to emerge. A local herbalist assisted in bringing the man back to the community, where a crowd gathered. Residents suspect the man may have been performing a money-making ritual, having allegedly spent three days inside the coffin. The man has been handed over to the police to assist with ongoing investigations.
