Focus Entertainment removes Denuvo DRM from Atomic Heart PC version

Focus Entertainment released a patch for the PC version of Atomic Heart that completely removes the Denuvo anti‑tamper protection, ending a three‑year period during which the game carried the DRM. The removal came shortly after the protection was cracked in July 2026, which bypassed both the base game and its DLC.

The publisher did not explain the decision, but the move follows a broader trend of game companies dropping Denuvo after titles age or are cracked. Players now have a cleaner executable without the third‑party DRM layer, which may improve performance and eases future preservation of the game. The sequel, Atomic Heart 2, is in development by Mundfish for a late‑2026 release.
