FOD to stream Formula 1 free practice and sprint qualifying for free

Fuji Television has announced that its video streaming service, FOD, will provide free streaming of Formula 1 free practice sessions and sprint qualifying for the remainder of the 2026 season. This free coverage begins with the 12th round in the Netherlands and continues through the final race in Abu Dhabi.

Viewers can access these specific sessions without requiring an FOD account or a premium subscription. The free broadcasts will feature exclusive commentary on FOD, with Sasha serving as the play-by-play announcer. While practice and sprint qualifying sessions are free, full access to all sessions, including main races, requires a subscription to the FOD F1 Plan.

Additionally, Fuji Television will broadcast highlights of the Dutch Grand Prix on terrestrial television. The FOD F1 Plan offers various tiers—Starter, Pro, and Champion—which include live and catch-up streaming of all sessions with Japanese commentary, as well as integration with F1 TV for certain subscription levels.
