FOEVA proposes wage increases in Argentine wine industry negotiations
Negotiations between the Federation of Viticulture Workers and Affiliates (FOEVA) and wine industry chambers in Argentina remain ongoing following a recent meeting to address wage adjustments due to inflation.
During the late August sessions, which included the National Secretariat of Labor, FOEVA proposed a 2.5% monthly increase from September 2026 to February 2027. In response, the business sector, citing industry difficulties, offered a 1.3% monthly increase for the same period. FOEVA has since submitted a counteroffer of 4.8% every two months to protect workers' purchasing power.
The business sector has requested a recess to analyze the union's latest proposal. Negotiations are scheduled to resume on Thursday, September 3, 2026.
