Fondazione Cariplo and EIB partner for affordable housing

Fondazione Cariplo and the European Investment Bank (EIB) have partnered to address the housing crisis through a focus on accessible and sustainable social housing. This collaboration served as the final stage of a roadshow that included stops in Bologna and Modena.

As part of the EIB's Action Plan for Accessible and Sustainable Housing, the group aims to increase its support for the sector to reach 6 billion euros in financing by 2026. The initiative focuses on funding the construction of new homes, the redevelopment of existing building stock, and implementing innovative solutions to combat the housing emergency.

The program involves collaboration between public administrations, real estate operators, institutional investors, and financial intermediaries to promote social housing, rent-controlled units, and university residences in Italy.
