Foggia CONI school field nears reopening after renovation

The municipal CONI school field “N. Mondelli – L. Colella” in Foggia is nearing completion following a renovation project worth approximately 4.2 million euros. The funding consists of 3.5 million euros from the PNRR and 700,000 euros from the Fund for the Start of Indispensable Works (FOI).

Local officials, including Mayor Maria Aida Episcopo, recently inspected the site to verify progress. The outdoor track is largely complete, with only lane markings and signage remaining. The large indoor facility, measuring roughly 100 meters by 25 meters, is in the final stages of construction. This structure is designed to support year-round athletics, specifically sprinting and jumping disciplines.

Final works currently underway include resin flooring installation, window mounting, system completions, and external finishing. Although project modifications were required to meet FIDAL and CONI authorization standards, these adjustments were covered by 350,000 euros in savings from economic remodeling and adjusted VAT rates, requiring no additional funding.
