Foggia councilors propose 24-hour veterinary emergency service

In Foggia, a bipartisan motion is being prepared to establish a 24-hour veterinary emergency service. Councilors Francesco Strippoli and Nunzio Angiola are collaborating on the proposal, which aims to provide medical coverage for both stray animals and owned pets through private clinics or a new shelter.

The initiative seeks to counter claims from the municipal administration that establishing such a service falls outside the city's jurisdiction. Proponents are using a model previously implemented in Melilli to demonstrate how the service can manage veterinary assistance, microchipping, and sterilization.
