Foggia documentary revisits 1998 Nadia Roccia murder case

The documentary film ‘Migliori Amiche’, directed by Luciano Toriello, reconstructs the 1998 murder of nineteen-year-old Nadia Roccia in Castelluccio dei Sauri, Foggia. The case, involving the victim's two best friends, Anna Maria Botticelli and Mariena Sica, remains one of the most significant criminal and judicial events in the Puglia region.

The film utilizes previously unreleased footage of the 1998 evidentiary hearing discovered in the MAD (Memorie Audiovisive della Daunia) Archive. This material is integrated with archival television footage and new interviews with magistrates, lawyers, criminologists, sociologists, and direct witnesses.

Produced by HGV Italia in collaboration with Seminal Film, the project received support from the Apulia Film Fund, the Apulia Film Commission, the Puglia Region, and the Italian Ministry of Culture. The national premiere is scheduled for August 27, 2026, at L’altrocinema Cicolella in Foggia.
