Foggia official proposes affective education to combat gender violence
Claudio Morlino, the Foggia city secretary of the Italian Liberal Party, has proposed implementing affective education programs in schools to combat gender violence. Morlino emphasized the need for a unified front involving schools, psychologists, and anti-violence centers to prevent violence rather than just reacting to it.
He cited rising trends in femicide within the Bari Court of Appeal district and noted a lack of relational education programs in Southern Italy. His proposal includes convening meetings between municipal leaders, educators, and professionals to establish pilot projects focused on respect and emotional intelligence.
