Foggia orders dog owners to rinse urine, approves charity concert at Teatro Giordano

The Foggia municipal council issued ordinance No. 93 on 28 July 2026, requiring anyone walking a dog to wash away liquid waste with clean water on sidewalks, streets and other public areas until 15 September. Owners must carry a bottle or sprayer and may be asked to show it to local police. Non‑compliance carries an administrative fine of €25‑€500, with exemptions for guide‑dog handlers and persons with certified disabilities.

The council also authorised the historic Teatro Umberto Giordano to be rented by the Fondazione Alberto Cavallo for a charitable concert on 19 December. The foundation will pay a €1,200 usage fee and will raise funds for a department of the Ospedali Riuniti di Foggia. All organisational costs, including audio‑visual, licensing and artist fees, will be borne by the foundation.
