Foggia pursues European City of Sport 2028 candidacy

The city of Foggia is pursuing a candidacy to become a European City of Sport for 2028. As part of the evaluation process by the ACES Europe/ACES Italia Commission, the local sports department has organized several preparatory events. These include meetings with local sports associations and a ceremony titled ‘ECCELLENZE DELLO SPORT 2026’ to honor athletes who have represented the city and the Capitanata region on national and international stages.

In a related cultural initiative, the Tecla Dance Academy has launched the ‘Foggia in movimento’ campaign. This project uses dance to promote the city's identity and landmarks, featuring local dancers performing in public squares and architectural sites to present a contemporary image of Foggia through art and movement.
