Foggia supermarket targeted in theft amid security concerns

A supermarket in the Martucci district of Foggia was targeted in a theft on Sunday, September 27. Surveillance footage captured a man climbing a private fence using a recycling bin to enter the Alter Discount premises on via Nannarone.

The thief spent approximately five minutes in the warehouse, where he stole at least six crates of water. To facilitate the theft, the individual opened some packaging to pass bottles through metal grates before using a plastic crate to transport the goods.

The store owner expressed frustration over the recurring nature of these incidents, describing the Martucci district as “abandoned” and calling on Mayor Maria Aida Episcopo to request increased security and territorial control from the prefect.
