Foggia to host Puglia Regional Orchestra of Conservatories concert

The Umberto Giordano Conservatory in Foggia will host a concert on Monday, September 7, as part of the fifth concert season of the Puglia Regional Orchestra of Conservatories. The ensemble consists of approximately 70 musicians representing five high-level musical training institutions in the Puglia region: the conservatories of Bari, Foggia, Lecce, Monopoli, and Taranto.

Directed by Roberta Peroni, the program features a selection of works by George Gershwin and Dmitrij Šostakovič. The repertoire focuses on the intersection of symphonic music and jazz, providing a formative experience for young musicians to perform within a large ensemble. Donato Della Vista, director of the Foggia Conservatory, noted that the project allows students to collaborate with peers from different institutions and share artistic sensibilities.
