Foggia trade unions protest exclusion from regional program meetings

Major trade unions, including Cgil, Cisl, and Uil, have criticized the Foggia municipal administration and Mayor Maria Aida Episcopo for their exclusion from the “Puglia accogliente” regional program meetings.

The unions described the omission as an “institutional affront,” noting that the two-day discussions focused on creating dignified housing for migrant workers, combating informal settlements, and strengthening labor legality. The organizations argued that they have been primary interlocutors in addressing illegal labor exploitation and informal settlements for years, and expressed frustration over the perceived lack of recognition of their role in these critical social issues.
