FOI launches million-euro AI learning analytics project

The Faculty of Organization and Informatics (FOI) at the University of Zagreb has launched the Learning Analytics Ecosystem supported by Artificial Intelligence (LAS), a strategic research and development project. The three-year initiative, which began on June 1, 2026, aims to develop a prototype system that utilizes AI to support students, teachers, and decision-makers in higher education.

The project has a total value of approximately one million euros (999,713.62 EUR), with 926,932.20 EUR provided as non-refundable grants through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). FOI is the project lead, with CodX Solutions d. o. o. serving as the project partner.

Project leader Professor Blaženka Divjak stated that the system aims to move from raw data and scientific findings to concrete actions that improve teaching and learning. While initially developed for FOI, the ecosystem is intended for future market placement in both the education and industrial sectors to support lifelong learning.
