Fokida, Greece traffic crash kills two and leaves one seriously injured

A serious traffic accident occurred on the night of Sunday, 19 July, in the Konia area of Fokida, Greece. An off‑course vehicle overturned, causing the deaths of a 35‑year‑old man and a 55‑year‑old woman, who were pulled from the wreck unconscious and later confirmed dead.

A 60‑year‑old male passenger was seriously injured and was transported by EKAB ambulance to Amphissa Hospital for treatment. Fire‑brigade units, EKAB responders and the Greek police quickly secured the scene, rescued the occupants and began managing the incident.

The precise circumstances that led to the vehicle veering off the road remain unknown, and the authorities have opened an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
