FOLA announces sophomore album ‘9’ with Davido and Ayra Starr

Afrobeats artist FOLA has announced the release of his sophomore album, titled ‘9’, scheduled for 9 October. The 14-track project follows his 2025 debut, ‘Catharsis’.

The album title uses a football metaphor, referencing the role of a number nine striker who is relied upon to score goals. FOLA described the concept as a reflection of his career momentum and his goal to provide guaranteed hits.

The tracklist features several high-profile collaborations, including Davido on ‘2am In Toronto’, Ayra Starr on ‘Treat U Right’, and tracks featuring BNXN, Darkoo, Bella Shmurda, and Zlatan. FOLA stated that the album was created with various instrumentalists and producers to ensure every song is rooted in authentic experiences.
