Folgore Caratese faces stadium bureaucracy ahead of Serie C debut
Folgore Caratese faces the possibility of playing its historic Serie C debut away from home due to bureaucratic delays in Carate Brianza. Although the club has completed rapid upgrades to the XXV Aprile Stadium (Sportitalia Arena) to meet professional standards, the local municipality is currently closed for summer holidays, leaving no officials available to sign the necessary validation documents.
Club president Michele Criscitiello reported that the society has invested approximately 3.4 million euros into the stadium, sports center, and club activities, noting that these improvements—including lighting, pitch upgrades, and spectator seating—were funded privately rather than through public money.
The debut match against Dolomiti Bellunesi is scheduled for Monday, August 24, at 21:00. Criscitiello set an operational deadline of 15:00 on August 18 for the documents to be processed; if the paperwork is not finalized, the match will be relocated to Zanica, as previously announced by Lega Pro.
