Folgosinho fire station to receive 1 million euro investment

The Folgosinho Volunteer Firefighters station in Gouveia is set to undergo a major requalification project with a base price of approximately 999,641 euros. The project, which has a 12-month execution period, aims to address long-standing issues including water infiltration that has degraded the roof and walls of the building, which has not seen major intervention since the 1990s.

The renovation will also modernize the electrical and plumbing systems, improve energy efficiency, and remodel the garage area. Notably, the works will create proper facilities for female firefighters, who previously had to use improvised dormitory spaces. The project is supported by 612,000 euros from the Centro 2030 program, with the association seeking further budgetary support from the Gouveia Municipality to cover remaining costs.
