Folia Hidrocultivos launches hydroponic production in Viedma
Folia Hidrocultivos, a new agricultural venture located in the Viedma Industrial Park, is producing approximately 3,000 plants per month using a soil-free hydroponic system. The project, established in 2024, utilizes a closed-loop nutrient solution that circulates through the roots and is recycled back into tanks to minimize waste.
The initiative was founded by three professionals: agronomist María Virginia Erezuma, irrigation specialist Lautaro Bertorello, and agricultural business manager María Constanza Tasca. Their goal is to provide high-quality, fresh produce to the regional market through urban production that differs from traditional local horticulture.
The team built the greenhouse and assembled the hydroponic infrastructure themselves, sourcing some components from Quilmes to establish their operations in the Patagonia region.
